 Eric Berkson, M.D.
Dr. Eric Berkson is our newest addition to the practice. Dr. Berkson specializes in the treatment of injuries to the shoulder, elbow, and knee, with an emphasis on advanced arthroscopic technques, cartilage restorative procedures, knee ligament reconstruction, and rotator cuff repair. Dr. Berkson completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. With this background, he focuses on return of athletes, young and old, back to their highest level of function with emphasis on early post-operative rehabilitation.
Dr. Berkson has worked with a variety of athletic teams including teams at the high school level (BB&N, Prosser H.S.), college level (Harvard University, Curry College), and professional level (Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Bruins). Outside of his clinical duties, Dr. Berkson has participated in multiple publications and book chapters regarding sports medicine and general orthopaedic surgery. His current research interests include a biomechanics of pitching project with the Boston Red Sox, pediatric shoulder, ACL injuries, and minimally invasive total joint replacments.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Berkson and his wife Stephanie enjoy playing with their dog Femur. Dr. Berkson was a competitive swimmer and triathlete in college and remains a recreational athlete today.
