Dr. Michael DiMarzio grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire. He graduated with honors from Boston College, where he earned a degree in biochemistry, before attending the University of Connecticut Dental School for his dental education. He completed a two-year specialty program in orthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
In 2008, Dr. DiMarzio started working with Dr. Skoler, who initially founded the practice in the early 1980s. Dr. DiMarzio helped move the office to its current location and helped to transform the practice into what it is today. Dr. Skoler retired in 2020, and Dr. DiMarzio continues to provide the same excellent service that our Quincy community loves.
Dr. Marczak was raised in Connecticut and attended the University of Connecticut for her undergraduate degree, Dental School and Orthodontic Residency. Dr. Marczak is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association. She had also dedicated time throughout her education to research.
Dr. Marczak has two publications in scientific journals and received the Quintessence Award for Academic Achievement in Research and the UConn Research Day Dean’s Award during her years in dental school.
Quincy Braces
Braces with DiMarzio Orthodontics are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Since they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments, braces may slightly reduce overall treatment time.
Braces don’t require some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, meaning Quincy braces are a cost-effective orthodontic option.
Traditional metal braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They’re made of metal or ceramic brackets affixed to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics.
These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in as long as you have regular adjustments with our doctors.
Quincy Invisalign
Invisalign is incredibly popular with patients and orthodontists in Quincy and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, the Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth gradually.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. To keep your teeth moving in the direction you want, you’ll switch your invisible trays out for the next one in the series every one to two weeks as directed by Dr. DiMarzio or Dr. Marczak.
The Invisalign system can only work if you follow the recommended guidelines! You should wear aligners 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and add time to the orthodontic process.
Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option.
